Chesterfield Church in the Peak is
part of the New Frontiers worldwide
family of churches. It has over 600
churches in more than 40 countries
who share a common vision.
We have a vision not only for the
town and Peak District but to also
touch the nations of the world.
We presently have friends in
Taguig City in the Philippines,
in St Petersburgh Russia and
with MAF (Mission Aviation
Fellowship) around the globe
(see below for further information).
Tim, Rachel and Mia - St. Petersburg:
New Frontiers in Russia
We came to Russia as a direct result of
God speaking to us. Firstly for Tim in
1999 which resulted in him moving
from London up to Manchester (at
the time unknown to him also was
the prophetic word brought to New
Frontiers about a bow being drawn
back from the south into the
north of England and then released
into the nations). Having got married, we stayed a further 7 years in Stockport, hearing God again in the last couple of years which told us the time to go to Russia had arrived. We came out as students of language and culture and to join with Dave & Hannah Henson in planting a new church in the city centre.
One year on we're very much in the thick of things - we both go to an orphanage every Monday and play with the children who age between about 4 and 10 years old. We've also just been able to start weekly visits on a Friday morning to a refuge centre for pre-orphanage children aged from just a few weeks up to about 3 years old. These are both very important things that we really have a heart for.
We continue to have language lessons on three mornings a week.
The church plant now has a Sunday morning meeting, having started weekly meetings on the 6th September 2009. Both this and our weekly Wednesday night meals see us very busy - we've seen about 60 people come to these this month alone!
Tim is also part of the leadership team and meets weekly with Dave & Hansie. Tim has also been travelling with Dave to other churches and they've been able to minister together, especially in things of the Spirit, taking a seminar on this subject, something that will soon be a regular event as they look to start up a ministry school training centre.

Mission Aviation Fellowship
Chesterfield Church in the Peak
partners with MAF at
Centre. To find out more about
Mission Aviation Fellowship
please click here.
Mission Aviation Fellowship is a
Christian missionary organization
whose primary purpose is to
provide air transportation in
support of missionary efforts
and humanitarian needs in
hard-to-reach areas of the
world. Medical assistance is
provided to people in remote
areas of the globe.
Mission Aviation Fellowship was
formed after World War II by
Christian pilots from Britain,
America, Canada, New Zealand
and Australia who realised the
increasing usefulness of air
transportation in the mission field.
It was first called Christian Airmen's
Missionary Fellowship (CAMF).
MAF's first flight was made in 1946 when Betty Greene flew missionaries in a Waco biplane to a remote part of Mexico. Branches of MAF were founded in many countries, including the UK and Australia, within a few years. One of its planes was used in Operation Auca, in which five missionaries, including pilot Nate Saint, were killed in Ecuador by Huaorani warriors.
MAF works in many parts of the world where travel is difficult, including Africa, Aceh, Bangladesh, Cambodia, East Timor, Mongolia, Madagascar, Arnhem Land and Papua New Guinea. They provide transport for missionaries and also medical emergencyand relief flights in times of natural disasters.
