In 1997 God spoke to Phil and Sally Hardy about moving to Chesterfield to plant a church. As a family they moved from Darley Dale to Chesterfield at the end of 1999 to help an existing small group of people meeting together in a home during the week, and to see the group grow and multiply and become a church plant.
In May 2008 we started our Sunday meetings at the New Street Centre in Chesterfield. Since then the church has steadily grown and a number of the Matlock congregation have now returned to there home church after supporting Chesterfield. There are now 2 midweek community groups meetings, and youth on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings on alternate weeks.
The church has now gone beyond "plant" status and is being led by a team of three in joint leadership (David Newman, Adrian Knight and Stuart Cuthbert). The church continues to have oversight from Dave Harper (Matlock) and Tim Davies (Buxton).
We have recently refubished the church building and have disabled access, a baby changing room and a cafe area.
